Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Kristina Petrevska, In den Sälen 24, 34590 Wabern, Germany ("MamaSays", "we"), for the MamaSays iOS app. You accept them by ticking the box and tapping Begin when you first open the app. Please read them; they are short on purpose.

1. What MamaSays is

MamaSays is an anonymous, ephemeral space for mothers. You can post what you feel, reply to other mothers, react to their posts, answer a daily question, check in with how you are feeling, and listen to affirmations. Posts, replies and answers are deleted 24 hours after they are created. There are no profiles, usernames, followers, direct messages or algorithms.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. MamaSays is made for mothers and people on the path to motherhood. We do not verify age or identity, because verification would mean collecting the very data we have chosen not to collect; the App Store age rating and your confirmation at onboarding are how we keep MamaSays for adults. If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under 18, we end it. We rely on you to respect what the space is for.

3. Your anonymous account

Your account is a random identifier created on your device when you first open the app. It is not connected to any name, email address or Apple ID. This means:

One person, one account. Creating accounts to get around a ban is not allowed.

4. Trial and subscription

MamaSays is a paid app with a free trial.

5. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the EU you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital subscriptions. Because the purchase is made through the App Store, Apple is your contracting partner for the purchase and the right is exercised through Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) under Apple's terms, which also contain the withdrawal instructions and form. Apple's cancellation and refund rules apply alongside.

6. Your content

You own what you write. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute it inside MamaSays for as long as it exists there (at most 24 hours, or until deleted), and to keep a copy of reported content for review as described in the Privacy Policy. No other use.

You confirm that your content is your own, does not infringe anyone's rights, and does not identify other people, including your children, without their right to privacy in mind.

7. Rules

Our Community Guidelines are part of these terms. In short: no identifying yourself or others, no harassment, no hate, no sexual content, no spam or promotion, no encouraging self-harm, nothing illegal, nothing that would harm a child. Be honest; be kind. The app is also protected by Apple's rules for user-generated content.

8. Moderation and ending accounts

You can report any post or reply, and you can block any other mother so her content is hidden from you. Reports are reviewed by a person. We may remove content, restrict or end an account when the rules are broken, and we may do so immediately for serious or repeated violations. When we remove your content or end your account, the app tells you on your next open which rule was concerned and why, unless the law prevents it. If you think we got it wrong, email us with your account ID within six months and we will look again; you may also use the courts or, where available, an out-of-court dispute body under the EU Digital Services Act.

Where the law requires it, we may have to keep or hand over content or data to the authorities, for example when a post indicates a serious threat to someone's life or safety.

You can end your agreement any time: Profile → Delete account, and cancel the subscription through Apple. We may end it with reasonable notice (for example if MamaSays shuts down) or immediately for serious violations.

9. Things disappear

Disappearing content is the product, not a defect. Posts, replies and answers are deleted automatically after 24 hours. We do not keep archives for you, we cannot restore deleted content, and we recommend you do not post anything you need to keep. Your mood calendar stays with your account and is lost if the account is lost.

10. Not medical or emergency help

MamaSays is peer support between mothers. It is not therapy, medical care or crisis help, and nothing posted by other mothers or shown by the app (including affirmations) is professional advice. If you are in danger, or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now. In Germany: 112 (emergency), Telefonseelsorge 0800 111 0 111 (free, 24/7). United Kingdom: 999 or Samaritans 116 123. United States: 911 or call/text 988. Anywhere else: findahelpline.com.

11. Our content

The MamaSays name, logo, design, affirmations, texts and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, scrape, resell, reverse-engineer or build on it.

12. Availability and changes

We aim to keep MamaSays available but cannot guarantee it will always work without interruption, especially as it is built and run by one person. We may change, add or remove features where there is a good reason (such as safety, legal requirements or improving the app), as long as the core of what you pay for stays intact; we will keep the app working as described for the subscription period you have paid for, and provide the updates needed for that.

We may update these terms. Minor changes (such as wording, a new feature that does not reduce what you have, or a change the law requires) take effect when we publish them with a note in the app. For a change that affects your rights or duties materially, we will show it in the app at least 14 days before it applies and ask you to accept it. If you do not accept, you can keep using MamaSays under the old terms until the end of your current paid period, cancel through Apple, and delete your account; we may end the agreement at that point. Continuing to use the app is not, by itself, acceptance of a material change.

13. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment makes the contract possible at all and on which you may rely), and then only for the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Any further liability is excluded. Content written by other mothers is their responsibility, not ours; we do not check it before it is shown.

14. Law and disputes

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country continue to protect you. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).

15. Final points

If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest stays in force. These terms are written in English; this is the binding version. The licence to the app software itself is granted under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA); these terms govern the MamaSays service on top of it, and if the two conflict, Apple's EULA prevails for the software licence. Apple is not responsible for MamaSays or its content; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms as far as the app licence is concerned. Questions: hello@mamasaysapp.com.
